General Description:
Classic line dances and dances of exceptional merit taught by Palo Alto’s Hedy McAdams, award winning and world-renowned choreographer and teacher.  ("Classics" are dances so well-choreographed that they continue to be taught and danced at line dance venues locally and around the world!)  For active adults of all ages, class features music from Swing, C/W (Country Western), Latin, Ballroom, and Zydeco traditions and forms.  An outrageously fun way to stay in shape, make new friends, and energize mind, body, and spirit. Three skill level sections are offered; with a reduced cost available if you register for two sections.  Singles are welcome ~ No partners necessary!  Co-produced by The City of Palo Alto Recreation Department and Dance Adventures.  Detailed descriptions about skill levels follow below.

Sec. A ~ Basics/Beginning Line Dance

Sec. B ~ Easy-to-Mid-Intermediate Line Dance

Focuses on dancers who want more challenge, attention to styling, and more intense mind/body workout.   Skill level:  Advanced beginning to mid-intermediate line dances.  This section features more complex line dance classics taught at a faster pace, with continued attention to styling details.  Practice between classes is highly recommended.

Sec. C ~ High-Intermediate/Advanced Line Dance

Ideal for dancers who want the ultimate challenge in line dance and want to build resilience and dance floor stamina, flexibility & strength, effortless and graceful technique, memory capacity, and consistent poise and composure on the dance floor.  Workshop features classic advanced line dances that continue to excite and intrigue advanced line dancers locally and around the world, peppered with pre-announced and surprise “quizes,” and exercises designed to build poise and confidence.  On-going advanced students must be willing to practice between workshops.  Skill level:  advanced-Intermediate to advanced line dances.
